ABSTRACT

These paintings mark a significant evolution in my practice, embracing a freer and more intuitive approach to expression. Inspired by the vivid hues and luminous light of European summers, bold, vibrant colour combinations and abstract shapes dance fluidly across the canvas. Each piece explores the emotional qualities of colour, focusing on the subtle and often contrasting relationships between hues and the feelings they evoke.

Originally inspired by paints made from my Colourful Language series, these works have since become a journey where pigment takes the lead.

While initial palettes and compositions are loosely planned, the process is guided by intuition. Layers of paint are soaked, burnished, and wiped away, revealing the canvas’s luminosity and leaving behind pigments that hum with depth and resonance.

These works reflect both the progression of my artistic thoughts and a shift toward a more expressive use of colour and form.
