My work moves between semi-abstract still lifes, gestural abstracts, and evolving explorations of light, place, and memory. Each series flows into the next, letting one idea ripple into another.
Photography and observational sketches quietly inform the work, capturing subtle qualities of light, colour, and space that later emerge on canvas. In my abstracts, pigment and mark-making take the lead. Bold, intuitive gestures and layered colour explore rhythm, movement, and the joy of painting itself. Painting from memory rather than life, shapes, colour, and light are distilled and heightened. Using these elements I aim to create a sense of familiarity - moments that feel remembered rather than observed.
Across all my painting, the thread is the emotional resonance of colour and light, the fleeting beauty of everyday life, and the quiet narratives that connect us to place, memory, and each other.
Available paintings can be explored and purchased through my gallery site, or in person at the studio in Hove.
