INSIDE MEMORY
Inside Memory brings together many of the threads explored throughout my practice: colour, light, sensory experience, observation, and memory. The project began with recalling the first piece created for the course: Disco Garden, a small experiment using dichroic materials and projected light to create an experience that extended beyond the physical boundaries of the work - see below.
When a former performance space became available for the final exhibition of my MA FIne Art, I saw the opportunity to develop these ideas on a larger scale. Working with light, colour, reflection, sound, scent, and movement, the installation invites visitors to enter a shifting environment where perception and embodied experience become central to the work.
The space can be a reflective and calming but becomes playful when experienced with others. Mini torches are supplied for extra interaction.

THE BUTTON BOX /
THE MOTHERS
This installation grew from clearing my mother's belongings and asking a simple question: what do we do with the things that remain? Button boxes, handwritten notes, photographs, furniture, tableware, and family stories became starting points for a wider exploration of memory, inheritance, and care.
The project gradually evolved into two connected works. The Button Box brings together inherited and loaned button boxes alongside the stories they contain, while The Mothers centres on my own maternal lineage. At its centre is a shared table where conversation, remembrance, and participation become part of the work itself, informed by ideas of relational aesthetics and collective memory
Through gathering, storytelling, hospitality, and exchange, the installation celebrates the women who came before us and considers what we choose to carry forwards.

THE BOOTH
The Booth marked the culmination of the first year of my MA; an immersive self-portrait bringing together the many strands of my practice. Drawing on the familiar format of an art fair booth, it became a playful way of presenting different artistic personas alongside my primary practice.
For the first time these voices were shown together, exploring memory, identity, and multiplicity. The project marked a significant shift in how I understood my practice; not as a single path, but as a rich, interconnected one.
